RAVENNA, Tex. (KXII) - An old church burned to the ground in Fannin County on Tuesday.
The building used to be Parker Grove Baptist Church, but has since been turned into a home. It's on County Road 1010 in Ravenna.
A woman on scene said she and her daughters lived there for three years and all her clothes and photos were inside.
Ravenna and Ector volunteer firemen said the building went down within minutes, but took them several hours to put out flames and hot spots.
"I just saw smoke coming over the top of the trees and thought the sand pit company was burning trash and burning limbs. And then all of a sudden, it got big quick," said Jan Nelms, who lives nearby.
"I was throwing pictures into baskets getting ready to run if i had to because the winds out of the north today headed right towards my house," she said.
No one was hurt. Firemen said they still don't know what caused the fire.
