One dead and three firefighters injured in fiery morning crash in Hunt County

HUNT COUNTY, Tex. (KXII) -- One person was killed and three firefighters were injured Thursday morning in a head on collision in Hunt County.

It happened on Texas Highway 34 near FM 2101 just before 6 a.m. in Boles Home, about 50 miles east of Dallas.

Cash Fire Department says three of its firefighters were on a truck that was traveling north when a car heading south, for unknown reasons, swerved into the northbound lane, hit them head on and burst into flames.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

None of the firefighters were seriously hurt.

DPS is investigating.
