STRINGTOWN, Okla. (KXII) - A driver was killed in a fatal accident Monday morning.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the collision occurred around 7 a.m. on US 69 at Fish Camp Rd.
Investigators say a pickup, driven by 38-year-old Andrew Haywood, struck the trailer of a freight liner that was attempting to turn onto US 69.
Haywood was pinned in the wreckage for two hours. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was transported to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's office.
The driver of the freight liner was uninjured.
Traffic in the area was backed up for several hours.
