One person died in overnight crash in McCurtain County

MCCURTAIN COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) -- Troopers say alcohol could of played a factor in a fatal crash in McCurtain County late Sunday night.

Troopers say the driver, 26 year old Shaylia Cobb of Broken Bow, was traveling on a county road just east of Idabel when she crossed the center line and drove off the road crashing into a tree.

One of the passengers, 28 year old Anthony Yanez of Broken Bow, was flown to Paris where he died upon arrival.

Another passenger, 28 year old Stephen Whitemore Jr. of Broken Bow, was also taken to a hospital and is said to be in stable condition.

Cobb was also injured but is expected to be okay.

Troopers say there was an odor of alcohol on Cobb when they were on scene.

The crash is still under investigation.
