DENISON, Tex. (KXII) - Tuesday, Papa Nick's in Denison began their newest special, free spaghetti meals.
Owner KJ Jahja said it's only free, if you let them deliver it to you.
"We decided a delivery would be best, people don't have to leave their houses." said Jahja.
The restaurant has closed it's dinning room and bar until further notice, following an executive order signed by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Thursday, in hopes to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Jahja said keeping his employees on payroll, has been a struggle.
"So we're just delivering today to these houses to people that are a little scared to get out, because I know it's nerve wracking, and we've been taking extra precautions by wearing gloves and washing our hands as much as we can." said Amberly Castle, an employee at Papa Nick's.
That's why they decided to have their employees deliver the meals, instead of hiring a third party delivery service.
While the spaghetti is free, meatballs cost one dollar and the delivery fee is three bucks.
"They still have bills to pay, so I figured a small $3 delivery fee wouldn't hurt," said Jahja.
Jahja said Papa Nick's is just trying to do their part.
"You know my parents are old so we try and keep them at home. If we could just come together as a community, the sky's the limit." said Jahja.
Papa Nick's is open for curbside pickup or delivery Tuesday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for anything on their menu.
They'll continue to give out free spaghetti meals on Tuesdays, from 4 to 7 p.m.
