PARIS, Texas (KXII) -- A Paris Police officer was arrested this past weekend on allegations of criminal mischief and stalking.
Officer Pedro Barrios Jr was arrested on a warrant Friday afternoon by Texas Rangers.
According to Paris Police, the warrant stemmed from criminal mischief and stalking allegations that were reported to the department last Sunday.
The Paris Police Department immediately called the Texas Rangers Service to investigate the complaints.
Lieutenant John Berry says the investigation is in its early stages.
"Mr. Barrios remains on administrative leave during the early stages of the investigation. Mr. Barrios has been released on a bond from the county jail," Berry told News 12.
Barrios was released on $25,000 bond on Friday.
Lt. Berry says the department will have no further comments until the investigation is complete.
