Police investigating Denison convenience store robbery

DENISON, Tex. (KXII) - Police are investigating a robbery at a Denison convenience store late Tuesday night.

Lt. Mike Eppler said it happened just after 11 p.m.at the Shell station in the 400 block of East Main Street.

Eppler said the clerk told police a man entered the store saying something the clerk could not understand, then made a comment about producing a weapon but never did.

The suspect then pushed over a tower stand on the counter, took the cash register drawer, and fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Eppler said the stand hit the clerk in the shoulder, but did not require medical attention.

The suspect is described as a black man, 5'11"-6'4," wearing a red or orange hoodie with a medium build.
