DAVIS, Okla. (KXII) - Davis and Lighthorse police recovered a body of a drowning victim at Turner Falls Wednesday afternoon.
Davis Police Chief Dan Cooper says the victim, a 27-year-old woman from India and living in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, went under and did not resurface.
She was with three friends when they were all on a ledge in the water and then suddenly slipped. They fell into a section of the pool where swimming is not allowed.
According to Davis Police, people nearby were able to help pull them out, but were only able to save three out of the four.
It is currently unknown how long the woman has been under.
The park and the main pool are expected to be open for the Fourth of July.
