ADA, Okla. (KXII) -- Ponototoc County Deputies are investigating a Wednesday morning shooting.
Deputies said Lindsey Donscott, 75, of Ada shot his grandson, Zach Hooser, 33.
Hooser allegedly first showed up at his grandmother's house and asked her to come with him to Donscott's home..
When Hooser and his grandmother arrived, Donscott and Hooser began to argue over an unknown family matter.
Donscott shot Hooser in his left abdomen with a .22 caliber rifle, but Undersheriff Arnold Scott said Donscott hasn't been arrested.
Hooser was taken to Mercy hospital and then later, to OU Trauma Center, where he was last listed as stable.
"Well there's always two sides to a story," Scott said. "So we have to get each side before a determination is made on whether charges will be filed or not."
Scott says Donscott has not been formally charged at this time, but he has retained counsel.
The Sheriff's Office will be interviewing Donscott at a later date to get the full details of what took place on Wednesday morning.
