More than 1,000 customers are without power in Southern Oklahoma, after storms rolled through the area Thursday morning.
The Southeastern Electric Co-Op reports that Thursday morning's storms have damaged an electric transmission line near the Coleman substation, leaving thousands without power.
As of 11:00 a.m. Thursday, an estimated 1,200 Johnston County customers are without power.
Because of the power outage, Coleman Public Schools has been cancelled for Thursday.
100 customers are without electricity in Atoka County.
Officials reported initially the Bennington and Durant substations were affected, as well, but power was restored to those areas late Thursday morning.
Southeastern Electric Co-Op officials hope to have power restored to all areas by Thursday afternoon.
