GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. (KXII) - A QuikTrip in Sherman and Starbucks in Denison are being built right now-- going up right across the street from one another.
The two developments on opposite sides of Fm 691 in Sherman and Denison are close to opening their doors and locals say they're ready for it.
"They got to-go food. We won't need anything else-- we got it made."
Jim and Rebecca Norton have driven by the QuikTrip on US 75 and FM 691 in Sherman every day, patiently waiting for it to open up.
"It's been amazing, it's been going up so fast-- but it's just not fast enough," said Rebecca Norton. "We need it open now."
The first Quiktrip in Grayson County will offer to-go food and drinks, and of course, gas--20 pumps to be exact.
"We have to go to the next exit and down to get gas, and this is gonna be fantastic. We can get it right here," Rebecca Norton said.
Across the street, and city line, another staple is taking shape: Starbucks Coffee.
It's Denison's first, something fanatics can't wait for.
"I'm gonna get a pumpkin spice latte because I'm basic," said Luis Moran.
"Skinny vanilla latte on ice," said Dylan Wells.
Locals Moran and Wells settled for Sherman's Starbucks on US 75 and 82 Monday.
But said they think it's too crowded.
"The exit right here is really terrible so everybody has trouble getting here," Wells said.
Everyone we spoke with agreed the growth in Texoma means perks.
One of those--the nearly 60 jobs these businesses are expected to bring.
The Starbucks is set to be open by the end of September and QuikTrip's opening date is Oct. 18 according to site managers.
