The runway at Durant Regional Airport is back open after a few months of reconstruction.
The runway at the Durant Regional Airport was closed for four months due to the runway extension project.
Now, the runway is 1,800 feet longer than before.
Airport manager Katie Hefner says this is the first step in getting more projects done at the airport.
"Also our ramp, we're going to extend our ramp to be able to provide the support structure for aircraft that are going to come in now. We're also going to look into new fuel systems that are coming in, upgraded security and some perimeter fencing," Hefner said.
