Southeastern Oklahoma State University will host more than 600 potential middle and high school students this weekend.

The school is holding its "Super Saturday" event where students will compete for several scholarships.

Southeastern is also hosting its Oklahoma Science Olympiad, where students from Oklahoma and Louisiana will compete in science competitions.

School Spokesman Alan Burton says the school wants to use the day to show prospective students Southeastern can be affordable.

"We have not raised our tuition for the last two years, which is pretty rare in Oklahoma. But at the same time, we have upped our scholarship amount. That combination has been very important in maintaining affordable education opportunities for students," Burton said.

Super Saturday will go from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
