GAINESVILLE, Tex. (KXII) - Officials in Gainesville say Saturday's Medal of Honor Parade has been cancelled due to risk of severe weather.
In a joint press release, the Medal of Honor Board, City of Gainesville Emergency Management and Cooke County Emergency Management wrote that they have regrettably made the decision to cancel the Medal of Honor Parade scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the interest of public safety.
After consultation with the National Weather Service, the forecast predicts the threat of widespread severe weather during the time of the parade, including the possibility of lightning and hail.
