If the second swimmer is not found tonight, crews will search the creek again starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Original story:
A search and rescue team is looking for two young men who went missing while swimming at Pennington Creek Sunday.

That crew has been searching this area for the two teens since midnight. Rescue boats have been in and out of the water since 6 a.m. Monday

Johnston county EMS director Kenny Power says the two males, ages 17 and 18, were last heard from Sunday afternoon when they texted friends they were going to go swimming at Pennington Creek.

A family member reported them missing to officials around midnight.

We're told the boys are from Carter County and attended Dickson Schools.

So far they have found a car belonging to one of the boys, along with their cellphones inside it and car keys by the shore, as well as footprints leading into the water that they believe are the boys'.

Yesterday’s on and off again storms caused the water to rise, but Power says the creek has since gone down at least 6 feet.

Power says they have called out surrounding agencies, including Madill's dive team, for assistance in the water and K9s to search the land.

Power says they will keep searching as long as the rain continues to hold off and the sun is still up.
