Second suspect arraigned in 2017 Denison Halloween murder

SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) - A man arrested for a 2017 murder on Halloween was arraigned this morning in Grayson county.

Timothy Barnum, 46, was arrested in November for the 2017 shooting at Allen's Plumbing where owner Robert Allen, 55, was found killed.

Prosecutors say Barnum had a relationship and child with Allen's daughter. A court order denied Barnum access to the child.

Barnum was in jail for violent charges at the time of his arrest, which was the second arrest in the case. A week before, police arrested 48-year-old Tyrone Summers.

Allen left behind a wife and seven kids, four biological and three they took in and raised.

"They would both take care of anybody that knocked on the door," said Johnny Allen, Robert's brother, after Summers' arrest.

"He had a heart of gold and a heart as big as Texas," said Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 Judge David Hawley.
