Sherman ISD makes improvements to transportation system

SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) Sherman ISD wants parents to know where their kids are once they board the bus, and there are programs they can be using right now to do just that.
Apps like 'Here Comes the Bus' and 'infoFinder i' send notifications to parents about where the bus is on its route and alerts in case of emergency.

But the district isn't stopping there. Tonight board members discussed staggering start times across the district.

Dr. Tyson Bennett says they've been talking about it for a few years, in fact.

“I know as a parent I've had my children at multiple campuses before, and it becomes more and more difficult to get around and pick children up. And so we see that as one of the biggest challenges, so we want to make sure we're setting up a system so that we can alleviate any kind of concerns like that,” says Bennett.
The district's goal with real-time bus monitoring and staggering school start times is to give parents more peace of mind by improving areas of concern in transportation.
