SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) -- If you leave bulk trash or debris on your curb in Sherman on any day other than your pickup date, you may face a fine.
Sherman City Council changed the program a couple months ago, but now the fines will start.
Once a month the city will go around and pick up limbs or trash for free. Each quadrant of the city is given their own Monday for that pickup.
The city of Sherman said people have been leaving bulk trash on the curb for weeks at a time.
"And that's really what it's about at the end of the day is making sure that our neighborhoods look clean, and that trash pickup happens just on that one day of the month," said city of Sherman spokesperson Nate Strauch.
The fine for leaving out bulk trash or debris is $100.
