SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) - A Sherman man has been sentenced to more than seven decades in prison for possession of methamphetamine.

A Grayson County Jury found John Moore, 61, guilty of possessing one to four grams of meth and sentenced him to 75 years in prison.

A press release from the Grayson County District Attorney's office states police began the investigation in March 2018 after receiving complaints about narcotics activity. A search warrant executed in November 2018 found methamphetamine and paraphernalia.

Assistant District Attorney Don Hoover said Moore had prior drug convictions.

"We commend the work of the Sherman Police Department and their narcotics investigators. It is just a matter of time before Karma catches up with anyone selling poison in our community,” said District Attorney Brett Smith.
