Sherman police looking for tire slasher

SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII)- Sherman police say six cars had their tires slashed early Friday morning at the Parkview Apartments, and one man says he had to replace his tires before making his 80 mile drive to work.

"I drive to Grand Prairie every day, and you know how Dallas traffic can be. Last thing I need to be worried about is my tires," said Brandon Rhone.

Rhone wasn't the only one who couldn't drive his car very far.

Three out of four tires on Sabrina Horn's car were slashed, this comes weeks after she replaced two of her tires.

"Just for somebody to do that, that is just ridiculous. I mean I'm thinking it has to be some kind of kids that don't understand that," said Horn.

Sherman police say 11 tires total were slashed, along with some cars getting keyed some time between 5-9 Friday morning.

Police say the vandal caused over a thousand bucks in damage.

In the meantime, Jerry Manly helped get his neighbors rolling again. He says the apartment complex needs to step up their security.

"Some time, the management is going to take a step and do something to put cameras up or something to monitor what's going on around here," said Manly.

Two years ago, two people were arrested for breaking in and stealing items from cars at the Parkview Apartments, but they were caught because neighbors saw them do it.

This time around, no witnesses have come forward, and there is no video.

If you have any information on who might have caused the damage, you can call the Sherman police department at (903) 892-7290.
