DENISON, Tex. (KXII) - Denison police say they returned fire on a gunman while attempting to serve a felony warrant in a neighborhood near North Texas Regional Airport Thursday night.

It happened at Perrin Estates, a neighborhood near the North Texas Regional Airport around 7:30 p.m.

Officers say they were serving a warrant when the suspect came out of the house and started shooting. Police say that is when they returned fire.

The suspect was taken into custody shortly after. He was transported to Texoma Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said they were unsure Thursday night if he'd been shot.

No officers were injured.

Texas Rangers are now investigating the officer involved shooting.
