5 hospitalized in pileup on US-75 in Melissa

MELISSA, Tex. (KXII) -- A six-vehicle crash in Melissa closed U.S. Highway 75 northbound for hours Monday evening.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. Monday in the construction zone near the Collin County Outer Loop.

Melissa Fire said five people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. They also said there were at least six vehicles involved, including two semis. One of the vehicles was stuck under a semi trailer.

DPS is investigating how the chain-reaction crash started.
