ARDMORE, Okla. (KXII) - Ardmore city commissioners approved an agreement to work with the Chickasaw Nation to improve streets around an Ardmore neighborhood.
Chickasaw Bvd, Locust St and Harris St, near the Chickasaw Campus in Ardmore, are scheduled for improvements after localized flooding on parts of the streets.
Chickasaw Blvd will be widened. Locust and Harris Streets will have new storm sewers installed.
The project is expected to cost $1.8 million.
"That will not only enhance the traffic flow and the street appearance around their campus, but it will also improve our drainage in that whole neighborhood," said Ardmore City Engineer Tom Mansur.
The City of Ardmore said it expects the Chickasaw Nation to begin advertising for construction bids in the next two months.
