SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) -- Flames were shooting out of a house on South First Street near Odneal, when firefighters arrived around 6:50 p.m. Wednesday.

It's the second time this abandoned house has caught fire.

A fire started on the porch a week ago. Utilities had since been turned off, which leads the fire marshal to consider it suspicious.

Fire Marshal Danny Fuller said abandoned homes like this are not secure, so anyone can get inside.

"The reason it is such an issue and a problem is that each time we respond, it gets dangerous for firefighters to respond and mitigate the fire while protecting exposure and neighbors," Fuller said.

Fuller said they have some general descriptions but no clear suspects yet. The house is a total loss.
