ADA, Okla. (KXII) - Ada police arrested a teenage boy accused of stealing guns from officers.

Police said they saw the boy walking shirtless down the street on September 23 carrying an AR-15 and a shotgun they say was stolen from an officer.

Officers said the teenager had several stolen items in a backpack, including a stolen handgun.

The teen ran from police but was later arrested in his home.

Officers said they linked him to at least four car burglaries, including a law enforcement vehicle where he stole the AR-15 and shotgun.

"It's very hard to break those things out. He spent a lot of time breaking into that car. And he actually disabled the vehicle. He sliced the tires on the vehicle as well," said Ada Police Detective Joe Machetta.

Police say the teen is a convicted felon believed to have ties to a local gang.

He faces charges of burglary and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
