Texas auto registration renewal gets 60 day extension

(KXII)

GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. (KXII) - Texas will be waiving certain rules for car registration due to COVID-19.

Because the state wants to limit the number of people in county offices, Texas residents will get a temporary extension for registration renewal.

The four registration offices in Grayson County are closed, but will still do business online or over the phone.

Grayson County Tax Assessor-Collector Bruce Stidham says he is a big fan of the move.

"I always say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. This is just something that is a part of our day to day activity right now," Stidham said.

The waiver will be in effect for 60 days.
