A Texas man was arrested over the weekend accused of having sex with a 15-year-old runaway girl at an Ardmore hotel.

Ardmore police said on Friday officers arrested a man at a hotel on north Rockford Road, just south of Veterans Boulevard.

Court records show 28-year-old Daniel Lara-Lozano of Carrollton, TX is faced with one charge of second degree rape.

Capt. Eric Hamblin with Ardmore police said the victim had been reported as missing and found at the hotel.

"Basically, parents had reported their daughter as a runaway and they were trying to locate her," Hamblin said.

Court records show Lara-Lozano and the victim had met for sex at least twice between March and December of this year, while the girl was still 15 years old.

Police said they are still investigating the circumstances, including how the two met.

"We have a lot more work to do," Hamblin said. "It's our understanding that they had been introduced through a mutual friend so we are still trying to track all that down."

Police said the victim is back with her parents.

Lara-Lozano could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.

He's in the Carter County jail on a $50,000 bond.

Court records show he will be back in court in Jan. 16.
