In November of 2015 the City of Denison approved the development of a new park.
This morning hundreds of residents and city officials saw the final product firsthand.
Denison City Manager, Judson Rex said there was one primary goal, "to create a place for health and wellness and that's what we really got here".
The 80 acre Texoma Health Foundation Park cost 16 million dollars to build. THF split the bill for the park with Denison Taxpayers giving 8 million dollars to the project.
Now Denison residents will be able to take advantage of exercise stations, multi use sports fields, running trails, and even large play areas for children.
Jay Weda recently moved to Denison and says the park was a big reason why, "this was a big selling point for me and my family, coming here and moving into the community, they're building all the new phases of the house and stuff".
The park was made possible by a partnership between the City of Denison, the Texoma Health Foundation and Covenant Development.
City officials and residents are certain the park will last for generations to come.
