Texoma native wins Best Warrior 2019

COALGATE, Okla. (KXII) - A Texoma firefighter took home the title of Oklahoma Army National Guard's Best Warrior.

Sgt. Jared Griffin from Coalgate took part in the three-day competition at Camp Gruber in Muskogee County.

Griffin competed in several events including a Physical Fitness Test, weapons marksmanship, an obstacle course and a 12-mile times march while carrying a 35-pound pack.

Griffin will advance to the advance to the regional competition later this year.
