Texoma school places in national competition
A Texoma Middle School placed in the top 10 in a national stock market competition.
S&S Middle School in Sadler, Tx. came in third place in the National Financial Literacy Competition.
As part of the Capitol Hill Challenge, Students received a hypothetical $100,000 to invest in stocks and bonds, along with other investments.
All of the top 10 teams won an all-expense paid trip to Washington and were recognized at an Awards Reception Tuesday at the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill.
"They are incredibly bright, and they demonstrated why they did so well in this challenge and understanding out financial markets. It was incredible," said Representative John Ratcliffe (R-TX).
Nearly 125,000 students have participated in the program since it began in 2004.
