Texoma woman gets probation for flooring scam
A Texoma woman will serve five years probation for scamming customers at her Denison flooring business.
Melenie Barajas pleaded guilty in April to theft. A judge sentenced her November 1.
Officials arrested Barajas in 2018 for three counts of theft at her business, Apex Flooring.
Police say six victims claimes Barajas required them to pay up front for flooring and installation. They say she never did the work and kept their money.
Barajas paid more than $20,000 in restitution, around the same amount of money she stole.
