Thousands of dollars in equipment stolen from Sherman church

SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) - A church in Sherman is out around $3,000 after a burglary Saturday night.

Church member Lucy Burgos said someone broke into Iglesia Palabra de Fe on Harrison Street near Brockett Street.

She said the thief opened the kitchen door with a screw driver and walked in.

Instruments like a guitar and base, microphones, TV's and a DVR with security footage were all missing.

This isn't the first time. About a month ago, the church was vandalized with glass doors and windows broken, but nothing was stolen.

"We were not expecting for anybody to come and steal what we use to praise God, but unfortunately the devil's attacking us right now. We're not going to let that steal our joy," Burgos said.

Burgos said they filed a report with Sherman police.
