Tips for keeping pets alive in extreme heat

By  |

TEXOMA (KXII) -- This week, temperatures will soar into the triple digits.

Practice hot weather safety for yourself, but don't forget about your pets!

The ASPCA recommends keeping your pets indoors when possible but if you can't, be sure to put out plenty of fresh, cold water for them and put them in the shade.

Cats and dogs do not sweat, so watch for excessive panting or drooling as a sign they are overheated.

And of course, the ASPCA says to never leave animals alone in a parked car.
