STONEWALL, Okla. (KXII) -- A Broken Bow man has been pronounced dead after a two-vehicle crash in Ponotoc County.

Oklahoma State Troopers say a 2013 Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on State Highway 3, west of Stonewall.

Troopers say the driver then tried to pass another vehicle, but hit head on with a 2013 Kia Soul heading eastbound.

The driver of the Honda, Gabriel Andrews of McAlester, was sent to Mercy Hospital in Ada with head and trunk injuries.

In the other vehicle, 21-year-old A-An Parra, 52-year-old Faith Parra, and 80-year-old Randolph Jacobs, all from Broken Bow, were transported to Chicksaw Nation Medical Center.

Jacobs was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A-An and Faith Parra were admitted with trunk and head injuries.

Troopers say improper passing was the cause of the crash.
