The Texas Department on Transportation says the pedestrian bridge over U.S. Highway 75 at Pecan Street will close for construction June 15.

TxDOT says pedestrians should cross the highway at the underpass near the Houston Street intersection.

Crews will begin demolishing part of the bridge on June 15 as part of the U.S. 75 widening project.

While crews are taking down the bridge, the northbound frontage road and right lane of northbound U.S. 75 will be closed from Lamar Street to Washington Street and the exit ramp for Pecan Street will close beginning at 7:30 p.m.

TxDOT says all lanes of the highway will reopen by 6:30 a.m. June 16.
