Tyson Fresh Meats President Steve Stouffer says their number one priority is the safety of their team members. The State of Texas Department of Emergency Management oversaw the testing of all 1,700 employees at the Sherman plant after several tested positive for coronavirus. Stouffer says they have implemented major changes to the plant's operation. He says all employees are provided with personal protective equipment. They have changed their break schedule so fewer people are in the breakroom. They've also adjusted their time off policy so that no one is penalized for taking time off.

Some employees have contacted KXII concerned that the number of positive tests is around 270 people. That's a number that Stouffer will not deny or confirm. However, he says once they have all the tests results back, the company will share the total with the public.
