VAN ALSTYNE, Tex. (KXII) - A man suffered serious injuries after Van Alstyne police say a driver clipped his motorcycle and sped off.

Police say the motorcyclist was heading north on U.S. Highway 75 around midnight and was about to exit onto FM 121.

They say a white car hit the front of his motorcycle, knocking him off the bike.

The motorcyclist suffered five broken ribs and several fractures above his eye, foot and shoulder blade.

He was wearing a helmet and is expected to survive.

"Just look for bikes, and if you hit one, don't drive away," said Ken Townsend, a friend of the victim. "I'm out looking for a white car with a black mark on the back bumper."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Van Alstyne Police Department.
