Van Alstyne man arrested after standoff for assaulting parents
A Van Aslytne man is in custody after deputies say he assaulted his parents over the course of several hours, ending with a standoff.
Casey Crockett Crim, 30, is charged with aggravated family violence, obstructions or retaliation, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
He is being held in the Grayson County Jail on a $102,000 bond.
Deputies responded to a home on Eagle Point Road in Van Alstyne around 4:30 a.m. after Crim's parents reported he had physically assaulted them for several hours.
The couple told deputies Crim started becoming violent Monday evening and on multiple occasions had put a knife to their throat, threatening to kill them.
Deputies say Crim's parents tried to get away when he went outside to smoke, but he caught them. They were finally able to get away when Crim had fallen asleep.
The Grayson County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team, deputies and Van Alstyne police responded to the scene.
Crim was arrested and taken to TMCC for minor cuts from breaking out a bedroom window.
