The Locust Community Volunteer Fire Department will get a new tanker thanks to a grant.

The Texas A&M Forestry Service Rural Volunteer FD Assistance Program awarded LCVFD with a $200,000 cost-share reimbursement grant.

The department says it has chosen to purchase a new 3,000 gallon Super Pumper Tanker.

The tanker will be able to help bring water to rural areas in Pottsboro and outer communities without fire hydrants.

LCVFD is responsible for raising $43,000.
