SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) - The city of Sherman says the break happened around 3 p.m. near 903 Brewers.
A representative says that led to widespread outages in the south and east parts of Sherman.
City of Sherman spokesperson Nate Strauch says the break is likely related to the heavy rains Wednesday night.
He says several thousand homes were impacted.
Many people have commented on social media that they've lost pressure.
The city says that the water main is being repaired, and that almost all homes should have water restored.
A boil order was issued and will continue through tomorrow.
Strauch says the pipes should be fixed by sometime Thursday night.
The City of Sherman posted a map to their Facebook page with the affected areas.
Due to the boil water notice in Tyson Foods will have no A-shift Production tomorrow. Material Handling and Maintenance will work a normal schedule. B shift to be announced on Tyson Food's social media.
