BRYAN COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) - A Colbert woman will spend five years in prison after pleading no contest to first-degree manslaughter.

Brittany Nichole Schmidt, 25, is convicted of driving under the influence and killing a man in a 2018 crash.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says on Aug. 15, 2018, Kris Patton was headed north on U.S. Highway 69 in Colbert when another vehicle struck the back of his van.
