A+ Athlete: Kes Reeves, Kingston

This week's A+ Athlete is Kes Reeves of Kingston High School. Kes is a 4 year starter for both the softball and basketball teams, a 2018 State Runner up in basketball, and she was selected to the State basketball All-Tournament team.

"I've always just worked hard to get where I'm at," said Reeves. "Nothing is given to you, so to show people that I'm from Kingston, and I'm a part of that, it means a lot."

"One of the things that you don't really think about until the season is over," said Kingston girls basketball coach Chad Rumer. "You look at not only the points and the rebounds, but you also look at the leadership things that she does on the floor like we've talked about, her being able to do that every day in practice and in games is huge, and it's going to be a big loss next year."

Kes is also a standout in the classroom. She is an honor-roll student, she's ranked 4th in her class, and she has a 4.04 G.P.A.

"What I know about Kes is she a perfectionist," said Kingston Math teacher Stacy Germany. "She will do whatever it takes to get it done. She'll go above and beyond. She stays after school, stays in the gym, she does everything to get that all done."

"My mom, she'll get on me if I drop to a B," said Reeves. It's just built in my mind to do your work, do it right, and get it turned in on time."

When she's not dominating on the basketball court, or making straight A's, Kes spends her time volunteering a the local soup kitchen.
