TUSHKA, Okla. (KXII) -- This week's A+ Athlete is Taylor Chambers of Tushka High School.
Taylor is a 2-time state champion softball player, a state semifinalist in basketball, and a 4 year varsity letterman in both.
She also competes at the state level in 4H and FFA excelling at the highest level in all that she does.
"She's a good kid who works hard and wants to be good at everything she does, whether it's showing an animal, playing softball, playing basketball, or in the classroom," Tushka Softball Coach David Durbin said. "Self motivated kids are the ones you're looking for, and it makes your job easier."
"It's something I've always strived for," Chambers said. "I've always told myself that I want to be the best that I can be. I want to be that Valedictorian of my senior class. I want to be the one on that stage, giving that speech."
Taylor excels in the classroom as well.
She's number 1 in her class with a 4.0 GPA, she's the Vice President of her class, a member of national honors society gifted and talented, and yearbook.
She does it all and she does it all well, but you wouldn't know it from talking to her.
"I think the moment you get over confident with yourself, that's the moment you're going to get knocked down," Chambers said. "I've done that plenty of times, but I just realized that you stay humble, and you treat people the way they should be treated. That's just how you live."
"She's a great role model for among the students," Tushka Science Teacher Scott Ridgway said. "Her faith is very evident in her walking through the school. How she presents herself to others, it's always with integrity and respect."
