It has been a record setting season in Anna, and not just for the softball team.
The Anna girls are headed to the 4th round of the softball playoffs this week. That accomplishment marks the deepest playoff run for the Coyote softball team and for any team sport in the school's history.
The Coyotes are coached for former Tom Bean and Southeastern star Lindsey Gage, who in her 4th year. She has this team pushing into the regional semifinals, where they will face Farmersville in a series starting on Wednesday.
"We have struggled the past 3 years," pitcher Hannah Howell said. "This is my final year, my senior year, and we're making school history. That is really fueling us to go out there and do our best."
"We have so much support from all of our coaches," shortstop Shelby Dombrowski said. "The football coaches, the basketball coaches, they all come out and support us. The kids are cheering us on as we keep going."
"They can go all the way. I think they really believe that," Gage said. "I think they have the talent and the mentality to do so. I don't think they see any limit. I think we're just going to keep working until we get to where we need to be."
