Anna softball prepares for first State Tournament

What a ride it has been for this Anna softball team, making their first trip to state in school history, and for Anna, it's the first time an* team sport has made it to the big stage.

Former Tom Bean and Southeastern star Lindsey Gage has been leading the charge as the head coach at Anna, and these girls are ready to take their swing, starting at 9 A.M. on Thursday against Decatur.

"I think one of the biggest things is that the kids don't panic," said Anna head coach Lindsey Gage. "They just have to go out there and continue to play the way they've been playing. I think we have a chance to have a lot of success."

"I think it's going to take a lot of grit, I think we're going to have to work really hard, but it's nothing that is out of reach for us," said Anna outfielder Hannah Moreland. "I think we can do it."

"Not only are we famous around school, but I'll go to Sonic, and they'll be like 'Oh, you're on the softball team," said Anna 3rd baseman Madison Gaston. "It's so cool, you're known by like everyone. And you're making history."
