Buzz Williams introduced at Texas A&M

Buzz Williams was introduced as the new head basketball coach at Texas A&M on Thursday. Williams comes over from Virginia Tech, where he won 100 games in 5 seasons, including 3 tournament appearances.

Before that, Williams was a student and basketball player at Van Alstyne high school, spending most of his childhood in Texoma. Coming from a small town, he never thought a day like this would ever happen.

"My trajectory in my career has been very atypical in every sense of the word," said Williams. "There is no way you would have been able to predict the opportunities that I had, including this one. I was hoping to be a really good JV coach, maybe some day be a varsity coach. Have a chance to be an assistant Junior college coach, or assistant division 3 coach."
