Denison swimmer Lindsay Looney returns to state

Denison swimmer Lindsay Looney is headed back to state after winning first place in two events at the regional meet.

Looney posted a 2:02:85 to win the 200 IM. That mark beat the second place finisher by over 20 seconds. Zoe Adama finished second with a 2:23:62. Looney's time also would have won the boys division at regionals. Zach Levesque won that with a 2:03:18.

Looney won the 100 Fly convincingly as well. She raced to a 54:12, a new Denison school record, and beating the second place finisher who came in at 58:58.

Looney already has 5 gold medals and one silver. She can add to it in two weeks when she returns to state to defend her titles in both events.

The Denison 200 freestyle relay team finished 7th in the region, setting a new school record with a time of 1:48:20. Looney was joined by Brooke Finch, Brinley Finch and Emmaline Hill on the relay team.
