Durant makes plans for Summer workouts to return
The Durant Lions will begin workouts on Monday. They have a new head coach, Todd Vargas comes over from Madill to take over the program, and now. he'll get a chance to see what the Lions look like.
Some protocols that they'll be taking include, taking temperatures at the door, washing hands, the locker rooms will be closed, they'll sanitize the weight room, social distancing will be practiced on the weights, and they'll limit the amount of athletes in the facility at one time.
"The number one thing that we want for our coaches, and our players is safety through this time," said Vargas. "We have a lot of safety measures. We're going strictly by the protocol by the O.S.S.A.A. I know that we can do different things, but that's not what we're choosing to do here at Durant. We want to make sure it's a safe environment. It's been endorsed by the Oklahoma coaches association, so that's what we're going to do."
