Durant returns to state, looking to run the table

The Durant Lady Lions are headed back to the state softball tournament looking to bring home the championship.

The Lady Lions return to state for the fifth straight time, hoping this is the year they bring home the championship.

"Early on even when we didn't win, we always put ourselves in a position to win," head coach Cody Little said.
We were always right there. I like the mental toughness they bring to the table as a whole team, one through nine, kids that find a way to get the job done."

"We know that we are physically capable," outfielder Jaci Phillips said. "We've been battle tested all throughout the season. We just have to make sure we are all mentally there. We're going to have to face adversity, just don't let anything get inside our heads just play our game."

"It took all of us together as a team, not just any one individual," outfielder Tristyn Hamilton said. "It's working together. we did our job we made it to state. "

"We have a word, and it is believe." catcher Haley Morgan said.
"Believe in yourself, and believe in each other, and I truly believe that we can accomplish anything we put our minds to."

Durant will play Tahlequah on Thursday at 6:30pm in Shawnee in the state quarterfinals.
