Jones steps in as Sherman Athletic Director

In late January, Sherman ISD announced they would be creating a full time athletic director position. On February 27th, it was announced that position would be filled by Bob Jones.

Jones served as the athletic director in Bastrop and has over 35 years of experience in coaching and education.

Jones has head coaching experience with stops at Ft. Worth Dunbar, Aldine and Shepherd. He has coached in the Army All-American Bowl and the All-American game.

Jones says that his biggest goal is to help the student athletes for what comes after graduation.

"Obviously our goal is to produce great kids. We want them to go out into the world and be leaders, whether it's locally, or nation wide," said Jones. "That's really our goal, to change lives by coaching."

Jones officially began his A.D. tenure on March 16th.
